Description

Tri-Y Headers, Polished Stainless Steel for 1965-1970 260/289/302 Mustang Coupe and Fastback.

Headers are a great way to increase horsepower and torque, just like Carroll Shelby did in 1965.

-Includes mounting hardware, gaskets, and 2-1/2" collectors.

Tri-Y headers were designed for the 1965-66 Shelby GT350 with a 289 HiPo, 4-speed and manual steering. Attempting to install in any other application WILL require modification.

         ***  with a 289 HiPo, 4-speed manual transmission & ***

                             *** WILL require modification! ***

                *** Modified headers cannot be returned! ***

*** The following list is neither ALL INCLUSIVE NOR EXCLUSIVE ***
-Does not fit FMX, C-6 or AOD automatics.
-May not fit C4s  with 164-tooth bellhousing. Clearancing may be need on RH of  157 tooth housing
-Will NOT work with 351W due to taller engine height & width.
-Will not work with GT40-P cylinder heads.
-Only fits 10 or 10.5" clutch, use of 68-up bellhousing means LH side hammering.
-1969-1970 models require additional clearancing for steering box.
-Non-HiPo models may need clearancing for clutch linkage.
-Some 64-65 V8 Engine Mounts sit the engine approximately 1/4” lower than the  66 and up mounts. Although unlikely, it may be required to shim your engine up  especially if mounts are older and have partially collapsed to gain more shock tower clearance. This can be done simply with some washers.

-Collector-to-first pipe: LH 14", RH 16"
-Back header pipe: RH 14"    

-Front header pipe: LH 21-1/2"    

-Pipe-to-head pipes: RH 8"       

-Primary tubes extend from the head about 2-3/4"      

-Overall length is about 30"                                   

-16 gauge steel with 1/4" thick flanges, 1-1/2" primaries, 1-3/4" secondaries,  & 2-1/2" collectors.
