Ok. I know I'm not the only one on this planet that is trying this, or has done this. I have a 67 Fastback, 289, 4sp that I just had rebuilt. I bought a set of Tri-Y headers for it. My clutch equalizer bar is hitting the headers.
Anyone know of a "reasonable" solution to this problem. I've been told of a few solutions, but they all seem to be "hacking" at a fix. In talking to the people that sell these parts, I wasn't told I'd run into this problem (or I would have bought a set of Shorties). Can't return the Tri-Y's. Their solutions were to:
1. Cut and re-weld the equalizer bar so that it sits away from the headers (on a slight angle).
2. Take a hammer to my new Tri-Y's ($$#$@@).
3. Buy a 67, 289 HiPo equalizer bar (which I can't find), and I was told by another sales person that this wouldn't solve the problem.
Anyone with any ideas? I would appreciate it.
Thanks, Dan
