87 5.0 engine in 90 xlt ford ranger

I want to know if it is possible to swap a 87 mustang 5.0 engine in 90 xlt ranger.I am learning about cars and I want to work on a project.I have a 5.0 engine my dad salvaged from a car wreck.And i have a ranger of mine i am working on.I got the idea and know wishing for you the ford experts to tell me if this is possible.Any help will be appreciated thank you.
