Gauge installation

I want to install some after market gauges in my 1967 GTA Mustang coupe. Does anyone have some suggestions on where a good spot would be to add them? Under the dash around the steering column may be a "KNEE" knocker. Is a pillar pod a good thing to use? I want to add a vacuum gauge and voltmeter.
