Cougar Engine CONNECTING ROD BOLT KIT WAVE LOC 5/16" 289/302/5.0 ARP "Wave Loc" 5/16" Connecting Rod Bolt Kit for 351C. The weak link in a connecting rod has always been the bolt. Most bolts have a knurled shank to hold them snug. This cross-hatching cuts sharp, deep grooves in the bolt which are a prescription for failure. ARP's "Wave Loc" technology features symmetrical waves that do the job without weakening the bolt. Made from 8740 alloy chromemoly steel, these bolts are rated at an astonishing 190,000 psi. Forged in-house at ARP using the finest material, these bolts are heat-treated, then CNC machined to exacting specifications. ARP is the industry standard.
