CLUTCH FORK 68/69 MUSTANG/COUGAR 428 CJ
Clutch Fork for 2/15/68-1969 Mustang & 1969 Cougar 428 CJ.
Located in the bell housing, also called release fork. Symptoms of a bent clutch fork is hard engagement into any or all gears. Here's what it does, press the clutch pedal & a cable activates the CLUTCH FORK which presses the throw-out bearing against the the diaphragm spring. Then, a series of pins near the outside of the spring causes the spring to pull the pressure plate away from the clutch disc, releasing the clutch.
*This clutch fork will work when using a 428 or 427 trans with a 390 engine.
