ENGINE IDENTIFICATION TAG "246A" 67 289 HIPO W/ AT
Engine Identification Tag with "246A" for 1967 289 HiPo w/ Automatic Trans.
Before computers controlled the car-building process, it was necessary to tag engines with build codes as they went down the assembly line. This way, the autoworker could easily mate engine and chassis at a glance by comparing the build sheet and the engine tag.
Great for restorations & concours cars. Original engine location was usually on the forward face of the driver side valve cover. Self-adhesive vinyl, approx. 1-3/4" x 1".
